WS902 Brand Brachytic Dwarf BMR Sorghum Sudan
WS902 Brand Brachytic Dwarf BMR Sorghum Sudan is a new, dwarf, Gene 6 sorghum sudan with almost twice as many leaves and half the height of a common sorghum sudan with lower lignin for better palatability and digestibility.
WS902 produces very leafy, high quality forage that cattle prefer.
WS902 Brand Brachytic Dwarf BMR Sorghum Sudan is medium maturing and can be used for stock grazing, hay and baleage as a single cut or multi-cut forage.
WS902 has a good foliar disease package, being Resistant to Downy Mildew and Moderately Resistant to Anthracnose.
The reduced plant height makes WS902 stand better and is easier for cattle to graze and the forage is not trampled on and wasted.

Sorghum-sudangrass is a high-nitrogen-demanding, fast-growing forage that generally requires about 100-150 pounds of N (nitrogen) over the life of the stand, usually split to maximize uptake and minimize nitrate poisoning risks.
Optimal management involves applying 60-90 lbs/acre at planting, followed by 40-60 lbs/acre after each cuttings.
Sorghum Sudan efficiently utilizes nitrogen and scavenges residual N but requires careful management to avoid nitrate toxicity, especially in dry conditions.
