Green Spirit Italian Ryegrass

Green Spirit Italian Ryegrass is a blend of both diploid and tetraploid Italian ryegrass.
Green Spirit as a tetraploid-diploid blend that expresses more seedling vigor, re-grow quicker and a high sugar content, where diploids are more persistent and winterhardy. Combining the two give Green Spirit a unique balance between growth and persistence allowing up to two years of excellent production.

FALL PLANTING: Plant as early a possible. Well-established Green Spirit will be more persistent. Graze or cut as soon as possible and keep short as Green Spirit will be more persistent the closer it is grazed or cut. Green Spirit responds very well to high rates of fertility. Adding red clover to Green Spirit will improve its overall performance. In the Spring, harvest as soon as possible either by grazing or cutting. SPRING PLANTING: Plant as early as possible and harvest or graze as soon as possible. Continue grazing or harvesting and keeping Green Spirit short. Growth will slow during summer, but good fall growth will occur unless damaged by a severe summer. Again, harvest or graze during the fall and keep short during the winter months. Green Spirit will respond to high fertility, with excellent yields and good persistence.

Establishment

Plant at 1/4″ depth. Green Spirit can be spring or early fall seeded, frost-seeded, broadcast or drilled. Ryegrasses likes moist, fertile soils and will respond to liberal applications of nitrogen.
