Freedom! MR Red Clover (w/Nature Jacket C)

Freedom! MR Red Clover-coated with Nature Jacket C (OMRI Listed) is a popular Barenbrug red clover cultivar named because of its freedom from pubescence (non-glandular hairs), and is one of the latest red clovers developed exclusively for Barenbrug USA with a new mildew resistant trait. Freedom! MR promotes faster drying in the field and reduces the chance for loss of quality due to untimely rainfall, making Freedom! MR ideal for hay production. Freedom! MR through breeding offers producers improved winter-hardiness and persistence.
Freedom! MR is also very palatable and nutritious making it a high forage quality variety for grazing mixtures.
Red clovers as a species are excellent nitrogen producers and one of the fastest establishing legumes.

Freedom! MR Red Clover is coated and inoculated with an OMRI listed coating and inoculation for improved establishment and growth.

Establishment

Plant at 1/4″ depth. An ideal soil bed is moist, fertile and firm. A soil test is recommended for proper plant establishment and growth. Red clovers can be planted, broadcast or frost-seeded successfully.

Management

Graze or cut for hay when the red clover is ¼ to ½ in bloom. A second cutting or successive grazing should occur when red clover is ¼ in bloom. Leave at least 2 to 3 inches of growth after each harvest. Care should be taken to eliminate or appreciably reduce bloating of livestock when grazing. Keep lime and fertilizers (phosphorus and potash) at the proper level.
